Last Supper Celebrity Dinner Party 2

Well, you asked for a new post so here it is....

Since the Easter season is upon us once again, I've decided to make my celebrity "Last Supper" Dinner party list an annual event. (If you missed the original post, see APRIL 2006)
I know I originally intended to have 12, like Jesus or whatever, but I can't think of that many. So, here's this year's list....

1. MIKE ROWE: Host of Discovery Channel's "Dirty Jobs", and narrator of about 10 other shows on that channel, Mike is the guy that's willing to try just about any job and can some how manage to be hilarious while he's doing it. Mike can simultaneously shovel shit and sing opera. He seems like an all around nice guy...funny, well educated, and with tons of excellent stories. Mike makes #1 on the list.

2. & 3. ADAM SAVAGE & JAMIE HYNEMAN: I admit it...I watch Discovery a lot...These guys are The Mythbusters, famous for testing to the extreme every kind of myth imaginable. They can make anything out of anything from flying machines to shark suits. They are artists, scientists, engineers, and little kids in adult bodies all wrapped in one. Again, seemingly nice guys that are sure to be full of great stories.

4. GORDON RAMSAY: Most people are probably familiar with Gordon from the FOX show Hell's Kitchen, but he also has several (much better) shows on BBC. While he certainly has an affinity for swearing (and is quite good at it) and can be quite intense and sometimes outright mean, he also has a very practical side that I admire. He believes in the value of home cooked meals, is a dedicated father, and can be very kind when he wants to be. I'm sure he's an excellent chef, and would be welcome to help prepare the dinner itself!

5. ANDRE CODRESCU: Andre is a poet, writer, and NPR commentator from Romania who lives and teaches in New Orleans. Andre's essays are funny, cynical, clever, and he has the most amazing, rich voice to listen to. If you are not familiar with Andre's work, check out his website HERE

6. AMY SEDARIS: Last year, her brother made #1 on the list. This year it's Amy. Amy is one of the most unique, undescribable people I have ever heard of. She likes to wear fat suits and make it look like she's been beat up (using make up). She loves rabbits and has an imaginary boyfriend. She has a new book out called "I Like You: Entertaining Under the Influence" which is totally fabulous. I wish I could throw parties as cool as hers. Hopefully, I could come close with this one.

Alright, that's what I've got for now. If I can think of more, I'll add 'em on later...
