It's Fall and...

Here are some things I like to do...
1. Watch "Rushmore" and "The Nightmare before Christmas"
2. Listen to "Last Good Day of the Year" by Cousteau
3. Follow NFL Football. (Yes, I adore football. I know it is contrary to so many other things about me--my total lack of athletic ability, my detestation of all things inately "American", my feelings against hyped-up competitions, over-commercialization, and the concept that people get paid millions of dollars to play a game--but get over it...i did.)
4. Wear scarves
5. Drink Octoberfest beer or a good Red Zinfandel.

et tu?

It's about time one of wrote something. I keep meaning to get around to it, but I have my first test as a Graduate student later today and I have been busy studying. Not to mention Masters level Stats classes make my brain liquefy.
Anyway-
1. I have never seen either of those movies, but I will.
2. I have never heard that song, but I will.
3. I don't have anything against football, and strangely enough I too, kind of like football season even though I do not watch a lot of games or root for a specific team.
4. I'm saving my scarf for winter, but mine is for performing a function of keeping cold air off my neck and face. not a fashion statement.
5. Octoberfest beer, Ah Yes, I have been enjoying that myself already. I LOVE me some octoberfest beer. Last year, Sam Adams was my favorite. This year so far, Beck's has a really good one.

My Favorite things about Fall that I love so far:
1. Coffee Creamer in the following flavors:
Pumpkin Pie Spice, Gingerbread, Peppermint Mocha, and Egg Nog. They only have them from late September till the end of December and they are by far the best flavors.
2. The new TV schedule. I am a 30 year Graduate student and I am allowed to be a homebody. I am enjoying some tv with my studies.

There you are! I was wondering if Grad School had swallowed you whole or if you were still out there somewhere...
First, I definitely recommend watching both of those movies. But them on your Netflix queue and bump them to the top. You won't regret it.
Second, since you have no particular allegiance to a specific team, I would recommend rooting for the Cincinnati Bengals (as they are undoubtedly the best team in football)
Third, Sam Adams is currently my favourite Octoberfest brew but I will be trying Becks to compare.
Fourth, I have never really tried flavored coffee creamer, but can forsee trying Eggnog or Gingerbread. The others sound kind of gross, and I'll just take your word that they are good.
Last, I have not really kept up with the new fall schedule, though I did watch Brothers & Sisters on Sunday and thought it was kind of good in spite of the fact that it stars Callista Flockhart. Any other recommendations?

(p.s.-Scarves are always a fashion statment and I highly recommend wearing one as soon as its cold enough to do so. If you do not have a nice one, I can make one for you.)

Other recommendations for TV:

Monday- Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is suprisingly awesome.

Tuesday- Boston Legal, House, Smith

Wednesday- Bones

Thursday- Grey's Anatomy, The Office, Shark

Sunday- Deparate Housewives & The whole time I was watching Bros & Sis-- I kept saying that I could like the show if I did not have to look at Callista Poptarts face (specifically her bloated, mishapen lips)

P.S. Becks has a more subtle flavor--definitely recommend. My favorite two creamers on the list happen to be Gingerbread and Eggnog--that's wierd.

I SO am taking you up on the offer for the scarf. I WANT A SCULLY SCARF!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk to you later

Thanks for the recommendations.
• I do like Grey's Anatomy but feel like I've missed so much of it I don't really know what's going on half the time.
• I used to like Desperate Housewives but got away from it last year. It's cool that Kyle McLaughlin is on it now. He's awesome.
• I'll let you know what I think of the Becks. I think it will be hard to overcome the Sam Adams though.
• For me, it's Flockharts uneven eyes that drive me crazy. If you look close they don't go in the same direction. It's like a chamelion...
• Yeah, it's SO surprising that after 8 years of friendship we would have anything in common :)
• Scarf...consider it done.

Damn you all that get to enjoy the most marvelous time of the year. I hear your scarf talk, i am sure you are seeing some amazing colors, feeling the chill of autumn evenings and smelling some campfires burning, dry leaves falling, sipping your fucking cider...
You know, its almost october and i am in a tank top, shorts, and flip flops, in my house with the AC on. It was 96 today.
All i can do is think that when i am reunited with my favorite season i shall never leave her again.
Please take a moment to really enjoy this time for me. And when you are freezing your butts off in winter i will be sure to write you a little story about my winter. But don't be mad, i know i lose.. having a fall is much better than a Las Vegas winter anyday.

Cider and autumn leaves. Thanks Sarah, those are also some of my favorite things about this time of year. I'm gonna go get me some fresh cider from an apple orchard.

OOHHH Hot cider with cinnamon, now that sounds good.

If it's any consellation, it's been raining non-stop for two and a half days and the forecast calls for two more days.
